OFF

Pretty simple. Turn off lights when they are no longer needed. By turning lights off, you could save 10-20% of your total household electricity usage (not to mention your electricity bill wouldn’t be through the roof.) When multiplied by the number of users, the potential for waste is enormous. Helpful hint, make the most of natural daylight.

ON

For those who are scared of the monster underneath your bed still, and I know at least one of you are, this one's for you. You can still save energy at night by using CFLs (compact fluorescent lamps). A compact fluorescent lamp is a smaller version of the fluorescent lamps that provides you with 75-80% energy savings.

RIDE TIME

First off, why drive your own car everywhere and have to drive the speed limit just to save a little energy and gas. Obviously your instincts tells you to drive 5-10mph, or for you crazies out here, the big 15mph, over the speed limit. Why put yourself in danger to get caught when you can get yourself a hipster-like bike and ride around town. Take down pollution and ride your bike. EVERYWHERE. Well, maybe not everywhere.

OFF MODE

Don't shoot! I know, I know. It's hard to turn that damn computer off, even when you're not using it.

Here's a tip: by turning your monitor off, you actually save roughly a third of the electircal usage if your entire computer.

DIY

Simple. Don't use plastic water bottles and convert to reusable canteens. Your're an artist. Buy a plain looking canteen. Get some Sharpie pens. Draw something awesome! It's the new stylish thing. Trust me!

LAUNDRY

Do your clothes a favor and save them from chemicals. Let's be honest, line drying your clothes outdoors is theraputic. Sort of. Not only can you save electricity by not using a dryer, you go through less laundry, save the quality of your clothes, and also save your clothes from being drugged with bleach. Win, win.
